The Hiawatha Amateur Radio Club is hosting their 2nd annual field day this weekend.

Ham radio operators from Perry and the surrounding area will set up their equipment Saturday and operate for a 24 hour period, seeing how many contacts they can make. The field day is an opportunity for the operators to practice their emergency skills and show the public what ham radios can do.

Anyone who would like to find out what “Ham Radio” is all about is welcome to attend.  The event takes place at Pattee Park from 1pm Saturday to 1pm Sunday at the large shelter house.
