A reminder to all motorists, the Independence Day law enforcement crackdown continues through this weekend.
Agencies across the area have stepped up enforcement as part of the ongoing “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign that aims to arrest impaired drivers who put both themselves and others at risk.
One person dies every 51 minutes in the U.S. because of an alcohol-impaired driving fatality and those numbers tend to increase around holidays such as the 4th of July.
The current special traffic enforcement program wave continues through Sunday.
