An ADM High School graduate is among the final 2,000 winners of National Merit Scholarships for 2012.

Lane Hovey of Dallas Center received the National Merit University of Nebraska – Lincoln Scholarship.  The award will be used toward tuition as Hovey plans to study mechanical engineering as a Husker.

Scholarship winners are selected based on scores from the 2010 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying test.  Semifinalists then submitted a detailed scholarship application including an essay, leadership positions, and contributions to both their schools and communities. The finalists then had to take the SAT test to confirm their abilities and only half of them received scholarships.
