A Greene County soybean farmer has stepped up and volunteered to be a spokesperson for the Iowa Soybean Association.

David Ausberger of Jefferson is now one of the association’s Farm and Food Ambassadors.  The new program’s goal is to empower producers to more effectively communicate issues that are important to their organization and farming.

According to association officials, the ambassadors met in two day-long sessions to discuss ways to reach out to other producers.  Each one is going to promote the industry in a way that works with their personality and communication style such as farm tours, panel discussions, media interviews and blogging. There are a total of 15 ambassadors in Iowa.
