The Jefferson City Council met in regular session Tuesday evening.

At the meeting the council approved pay estimate number three for the downtown restoration project, which City Administrator Mike Palmer says continues to move forward.

The council also approved a street seal coating project.

“It’s critical to make sure that we do this. We keep a regular program up to keep these streets in good condition.  It was a number of years ago that the streets were all just dirt up there, so there’s been a huge improvement and we want to keep it that way up there.  Especially now with the bridge being built, that part of the community is probably going to be more and more developed as time goes on” says Palmer.

Also at the meeting Shirley Stapleton was appointed to the library board of trustees for a 6 year term.  One vacancy on the board still remains. The next council meeting has been moved from Tuesday July 24th to the 31st at 5pm in the council chambers of the Jefferson City Hall.
