There is currently an ongoing investigation happening at the Garden’s Assisted Living Center in Jefferson. Reports show that at on July 24th at 9:12 a.m. an officer was called to examine some food products that someone had poured an “unknown solution” into. The Department of Inspections and Appeals, an organization responsible for inspecting, licensing, and certifying health care providers, restaurants, and hotels, among other service industries, was informed and an investigation was launched.
The FDA will be conducting a joint investigation with the Jefferson police department and the Department of Inspections and Appeals, says Police Chief Dave Morlan. And in terms of a time line on how long the investigation process will take, Morlan says the following:
“It depends on a number of factors including: getting people in and interviewed and followed up interviews and that sort of thing. It just has to run its course. As soon as it’s completed we will file charges if they are appropriate.
