08/13   At 12:33 am, a deputy assisted Jefferson police with an arrest

At 1:14 am, a deputy investigated a trespass complaint in Churdan regarding subjects being in a resident’s back yard, no one was located

At 2:35 am, Jeremy J. Tasler, 36, of Jefferson was booked into the county jail after an arrest by Jefferson police for OWI 3rd, he was later released O/R by magistrate

At 8:37 am, a deputy was advised of a suspicious vehicle seen in the 1100 Block of 130th Street

At 11:02 am, a deputy assisted DSM PD with attempting to locate a Scranton resident for them who was not found

At 12:20 pm, a deputy was advised of careless driving eastbound 220th from Jefferson but was out of position to check it

At 12:29 pm, a deputy checked the report of a young girl walking along 220th east of Orchard but she was not located

At 1:07 pm, a deputy picked up a stray dog in Rippey and transported it to the PAWS shelter

At 4:27 pm, a deputy assisted Story County with a Violation of a No Contact Order violation

At 5:15 pm, Jeremy D. Garrison, 36, of Churdan was booked into the county jail after an arrest by Jefferson police on a Parole Violation warrant and Driving While Barred, remains held

At 7:17 pm, a deputy assisted with cattle out in the 1800 Block of R Avenue

At 7:24 pm, a deputy assisted Jefferson police with a shooting investigation

At 8:37 pm, a deputy checked an unlocked business door in Churdan

 

08/14   At 9:05 am, Kaleb L. Lentz, 18, of Grand Junction was booked into the county jail after turning himself in on warrants for Criminal Mischief 4th Degree and Criminal Trespass, charges were filed by a deputy in connection with damage to a wooden truck and tractor at the Memorial Park in Grand Junction investigated on 08/07, he was booked and released O/R per warrants

At 10:58 am, the sheriff and deputies along with Jefferson Fire responded to the report of large hay bales on fire on a semi-trailer at 220th and J Avenue. The driver was able to pull off onto J Avenue and unhook the tractor from the trailer. A local farmer then assisted with a skid loader in setting off eight of the large bales that were burning from internal combustion. Twenty-six bales were saved.

At 2:40 pm, a deputy received the report from a local resident that he had lost $2000 in cash last week near Graffiti Bridge on Neola Avenue south of Mulberry Street. He advised he had found the envelope that the money had been in.

At 3:00 pm, a deputy received the report of a theft of household items from a house in Rippey where subjects had cohabited together

At 7:45 pm, a deputy received a careless driving report against a bicycle riding south of Jefferson on Neola. A motorist reported they had to swerve into the other lane to avoid the bike and was almost hit head-on. The motorist was reminded that state law states bikes have as much right to the roadway as motor vehicles

At 8:23 pm, a deputy checked and secured the door to the old brick school house at N Avenue 130th Street

At 10:55 pm, a deputy investigated the report that a Grand Junction resident heard their front door open and thought it was a family member but when no one came in they checked and found the door open, they were unsure if anyone entered the residence or not

At 11:44 pm, a deputy found an anhydrous ammonia tank leaking at the Paton Coop on U Avenue

 

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
