“Overall I think the kids can be happy with their performances,” said Coach Dave Zwank, “It’s good to get a first meet out of the way and have a better feel for where each of them are at this time. The kids didn’t back off.”

“We’re happy with what we have seen so far,” he continued, “We’ve set our sights on constant improvement and success focused toward the end of the season.” On Freshman Brianna Mueller’s 4th place finish for a Freshman, Coach Zwank was impressed, “She has now established herself in the high school field after previous success in middle school track. Keeping her focus on the right place and time is a challenge of steering a young athlete.”

For the boy’s, Zwank mentioned Josh Berger and Cade Kiddo, ” Josh was just out of medaling and having Cade following that close behind is good for the boys team. This meet helps us set our Varsity line up initially for both teams,” Zwank finished.

Next up for the Tiger runners is a meet Saturday, September 1st at Pella followed by the Winterset Invitational on September 4th.
