The Perry football, cross country, swimming and volleyball teams all started their seasons last week with competition throughout the area.   Perry will get to showcase some of their sports in front of the home crowd for the first time.  The Perry football team will look to make it 2-0 as they welcome 1-0 Boone to Dewey Field this Friday night for a 7:30 kickoff.  Perry defeated Greene County 27-7 while Boone knocked off Carlisle 21-10.  In fact, Perry’s future District opponents, District 1 went a perfect 7-0 on opening week.  ADM, Atlantic, Creston, Glenwood, Harlan, and Lewis Central all had lopsided week 1 victories.  The closest victory was 18 points.

The Perry volleyball team will travel to ADM on Thursday for the Tiger Invitational.  Action gets underway at 4:30.  Carol Van Kirk’s first home match will be the Perry Invite on September 6th.

Both the Perry cross country and swimming team will strictly practice this week with their next competition not coming until after Labor Day.
