Coach Lyle Alumbaugh’s motto for this season is one word–”Reload.”  And coming off a 10-1 season and making it to round two of the playoffs, the Panthers 46-6 victory over Guthrie Center on Friday night is proof that this team is firing on all cylinders.

The Panthers started quick with a 44-yard Garrett Mleynek pass to Mason McNeill.  And it didn’t stop there, Panorama continued with a 10-yard rushing touchdown by Luke Webner, followed by a quarterback run by Mleynek, and then an 88-yard punt return by Alex Llanes, all of this before the 1st quarter was over. Guthrie Center responded with a 2nd quarter 21-yard touch down pass to Gavin Laughery, but the deficit was too much for the Tigers to come back from.

The Panthers continued to pour on the scoring spree with three more touchdowns throughout the game adding scores of a 25-yard pass to Luke Webner, a 68-yard pass to Chase Hennen, and a 6-yard run by Mleynek.

The standouts were easy to spot; Senior Tyler Hein had half of the 30 carries on the night, reaching 70 yards.  3 of the 4 catches resulted in touchdowns, spread out between McNeill, Webner, and Hennen.

On the other side of the ball, Tyler Hein had 7 solo tackles.  Taylor Harper helped out as well with 3 solo tackles, 1 sack, 1 other for loss, and 1 assisted tackle.

The only aspect the Panthers will have to work on for their next game will be their 16 penalties costing them over a field and a half for 160 yards.

All in all, Alumbaugh’s Panthers are off to a great start.  Their first home game of the season will be this Friday night against West Marshall while Guthrie Center hosts Ogden.
