The 2012 high school volleyball season begins tonight for the Greene County Rams as they host Panorama (Panora) in non-district action in the middle school gym in Jefferson. Not only is the match the first of the season for the Rams, it is the first for Greene County High School. Students from East Greene and Jefferson-Scranton began going to school together full-time last week and the 2012-13 school year marks the first time students will be playing all sports together.

Head coach Donna Carhill has been pleased with preseason workouts, but after three weeks of practices and scrimmages, she said the players are ready to get the season underway. Carhill is a veteran coach who is one of a select few coaches that have led three different programs to the State Tournament. She led teams from Scranton, Carroll High, and Jefferson-Scranton to State Tournaments over her career.
