Greene County makes its longest road trip of the high school football regular season on Sept. 7 when the Rams go southwest to Shenandoah to face the Mustangs. The Rams lost in Alleman to North Polk on Aug. 31 by a 21-6 final to fall to 0-2 on the season. The Rams gained just 130 yards of total offense, but controlled the clock and the scoring in the second half after they trailed 21-0 at intermission. The Comets improved to 1-2 on the season and gained most of their yards and did all of their scoring in the first two quarters.

Junior T. J. Lint scored the lone GC touchdown on a run of two yards in the third quarter after a fumble recovery by junior Jeremy Scheuermann set the Rams up deep in NP territory. Scheuermann also intercepted a first quarter pass to put an end to a scoring threat by the Comets.
