The Dallas County Foundation held their annual grant awards presentation banquet in Perry Tuesday.

Dozens of donors, community leaders and grantees gathered at the Hotel Pattee for dinner, fellowship and the awards presentation.  The night’s featured speaker was Iowa Area Development Group President Rand Fisher who spoke about community based philanthropy.

A total of 19 causes in Dallas County were selected for the monetary awards, totaling $86,900.

 

 

 

 

 

 

This year’s grantees include:

ADM Community Schools – Adel — $5,000 for the purchase of biomedical sciences microscopes and EKG sensor devices

 

 

 

 

ADM Fine Arts – Adel — $5,000 for the purchase of risers and a sound shell

 

 

 

 

American Legion Post 464 – Adel — $5,000 to make the restrooms handicap accessible

 

 

 

 

Brenton Arboretum – Dallas Center — $2,800 for the purchase of a portable microphone and lectern

 

 

 

 

Dallas Center Parks and Recreation – Dallas Center — $5,000 for the purchase of handicap accessible playground equipment

 

 

 

 

Dallas County Sheriff’s Benevolent Association – Adel — $2,664 for the purchase of a laptop computer and software

 

 

 

 

Dallas County Conservation – Perry — $20,000 for the construction of 33 miles of the Raccoon Valley Trail – 3rd year

 

 

 

 

De Soto United Methodist Church – De Soto — $2,500 for a generator for the community storm shelter

 

 

 

 

City of Granger Parks and Rec. – Granger — $2,000 for the construction of cement pads, bleachers, benches and ball park

 

 

 

 

City of Minburn Public Library – Minburn — $2,040 for enhancements to the trail system in Walnut Creek Park

 

 

 

 

Perry Lutheran Home – Perry — $4,500 for the construction of an outdoor deck

 

 

 

 

St. Patrick’s Catholic School – Perry — $4,000 for the purchase of 30 notebooks and 40 iPads for use by students

 

 

 

 

Van Meter Methodist Church (Troop 120) – Van Meter — $4,500 for the purchase of a trailer and camping equipment

 

 

 

 

City of Waukee Fire Department – Waukee — $3,650 for the purchase of optical preemption lights for two ambulances

 

 

 

 

City of Waukee Public Library – Waukee — $2,000 for the purchase of biography and memoir selections as replacements

 

 

 

 

City of Woodward, Woodward Social Center – Woodward — $2,500 for building repairs to the front door, furnace and awning

 

 

 

 

Envision Woodward – Woodward — $2,100 for phase 4, purchase of park benches, picnic tables and landscaping

 

 

 

 

Dallas County Foundation – Adel — $5,906 for marketing and administrative costs
