The Woodward Granger football team has adjusted nicely to the smaller Class A setting this year. The Hawks, who have dominated the 1A field the past couple of years, are continuing the strong tradition in the smaller Class A division. Woodward Granger, the Radio Iowa number one team in the state has sprinted out to a 4-0 start with the closest game being 28 points. The Hawks are coming off a 42-0 shutout over Audubon..their second straight shutout. Woodward Granger has outscored their first four opponents this year by a taly of 184-21. Taylor Ashman is 33-54 throwing the football for 624 yards with 9 touchdowns and no interceptions. Andrew McCune is among the state leaders in rushing with 716 yards and a team high 13 touchdowns. Marshall Nieland leads the Hawks with 20 catches for 417 yards. Woodward Granger will travel to Martensdale St. Mary’s this Friday and Madrid in 3 weeks.
