The Greene County Board of Supervisors approved tax abatement requests at their meeting this week.

Grand Junction Mayor Gerold Herrick requested the board abate taxes on three properties that have been acquired by the city and razed along its Main Street.  The board unanimously approved the abatement for the three properties for a total of $524.

Also at the meeting the board held a drainage meeting, discussed the county’s requirements for the Title VI Civil Rights Act that has to do with nondiscrimination in federally assisted programs and activities.  The board also approved a 28E agreement for Tobacco Enforcement between the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division and Greene County, effective through June 30th 2013.
