The Greene County football team has thrown the ball more through the first five games of the season than the average Jefferson-based team. The Rams are 71 for 137 for 730 yards through the air heading into the Sept. 28 non-district contest at Story City vs. Roland-Story. Senior quarterback Tory Beger has accounted for all the passing yardage and all but four of the passing attempts. He’s thrown for six touchdowns and has been intercepted seven times. Junior T. J. Lint has 30 receptions for 281 yards and two TDs while senior Dylan Schilling has 20 catches for 215 yards and a pair of scores.

The ground attack has accounted for just 226 yards on 120 rushes for an average of less than two yards per carry. Part of the reason the rushing number is so low is quarterback sack yardage is deducted from the rushing total. Still, no Greene County ball carrier averages as much as four yards per carry.

Both Greene County and R-S are 1-4 on the season. Coverage on KG98 begins at 6 p.m. with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
