This Saturday is National Medication Take Back Day and area law enforcement agencies are collecting unused drugs for safe disposal.

All residents who have unused, unwanted or expired drugs or medications are encouraged to safely dispose of them during this event.

Items that will be accepted include prescription and over-the-counter medications, pet medications, vitamins, supplements, and ointments, creams, oils and lotions. Some drop off sites will also be accepting liquids, illegal narcotics, needles and syringes.

The drop off day is coordinated through the Drug Enforcement Administration and is designed to make sure medications don’t get in the wrong hands or harm the environment.

Law enforcement officers will be accepting these items Saturday from 10am-2pm at the Perry Police Department and Greene County Sheriff’s Office.  For more information you can call your local law enforcement office.
