September 24 thru 30, 2012

 

09/24   At 10:11 am, a deputy assisted Jefferson police with locating two 13 year olds who had left school without permission

At 11:38 am, a deputy checked for cattle out around S Avenue between 110th and 110th Street but none were located out

At 4:13 pm, a deputy investigated the theft of a Bale Spear from the 1300 Block of 330th Street that has a quick attach for a Westendorf attachment, it was last seen last summer

At 4:47 pm, Shawn R. Scheuermann, 29, of Jefferson was booked into the county jail after an arrest by Jefferson police on a warrant from Perry PD regarding a traffic offense, he was released on bond

At 6:41 pm, a deputy checked the report of an injured deer in the 1700 Block of 160th Street, deer was located and destroyed

At 11:06 pm, a deputy checked a noise complaint in Grand Junction and issued a warning

 

09/25   At 10:35 am, a deputy investigated the theft of items from a residence in Churdan

At 2:12 pm, a deputy investigated a domestic dispute in Paton between parents and a child. The child was taken into custody and later turned over to juvenile authorities

At 5:50 pm, Maresol Caldero, 41, of Perry was booked into the county jail after an arrest and transport by a deputy from Perry on warrants for Conspiracy to Manufacture Methamphetamine and Receive, Transfer or Furnish a Precursor Substance for Unlawful Use. Charges were filed in June by a deputy after an investigation from February. She was later released O/R by the magistrate.

At 6:22 pm, a deputy checked the calves out near 220th and Hillcrest but none were located

At 7:10 pm, a deputy investigated the report of a stray horse in the 700 Block of 130th Street. The caller was going to keep the brown horse with white facial markings and a white sock on the rear left leg until an owner could be located

At 11:23 pm, a deputy assisted a Paton resident with a family member threatening suicide in DSM. DSM police were notified and conducted a welfare check and the family member was found to be all right

 

09/26   At 2:10 am, a deputy checked the report of a cow out on D Avenue north of 300th Street but it was not located

At 11:01 am, a deputy investigated the burglary to a garage and shed in Grand Junction where tools were reported missing

At 12:12 pm, a deputy and Jefferson Fire responded to a tractor fire on S Avenue near 195th Street, the tractor received minor damage

At 7:49 pm, a deputy assisted Jefferson police with a welfare check on a subject not seen for several days and they were found to be deceased

At 10:13 pm, a deputy checked the report of a suspicious vehicle in Scranton

 

09/27   On a personal injury crash from 09/23 at 3:44 am at V Avenue and 305th Street, Christine M. Kunch, 40, of Perry was westbound on 305th Street in a 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt when she lost control and entered the ditch at V Avenue and rolled over onto its top. She refused transport by Grand Junction Fire and Rescue and was arrested for OWI 1st, Failure to Maintain Control and Failure to Have Insurance. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $10,000.

At 12:46 am, a deputy assisted Jefferson police with a welfare check

At 11:15 am, Dustin D. Hill, 19, of Carroll was booked into the county jail after an arrest and transport by a deputy on a warrant for Probation Violation, remains held

At 9:42 pm, a deputy checked an unlocked business door in Scranton

At 10:33 pm, a deputy checked the report of dogs barking in Scranton, resident was not home but may be cited for the offense

 

09/28   At 6:37 am, a deputy assisted a deputy with a vehicle in the ditch on Kirkwood Avenue south of 220th after it blew a tire, there was no damage

At 1:34 pm, a deputy investigated the theft of a stereo from a garage in Grand Junction where a garage sale was being held

At 3:00 pm, Tanner T. Guess, 21, of Jefferson was booked into the county jail serving an OWI 2nd sentence

 

09/29   At 2:20 am, a deputy checked the report of a sitting in the roadway at X Avenue and 170th Street. Brady L. Cashatt, 20, of Ames was arrested for OWI 1st, Possession of Alcohol Underage and Open Container; he was later released on bond

At 8:14 am, a deputy picked up a stray dog in Rippey and took it to PAWS

At 8:22 am, Paton Fire responded to a possible grain bin fire in the 400 Block of Orchard Avenue

At 11:37 am, a deputy checked an abandoned 911 call made from Paton and found that children had been playing with the telephone

At 3:00 pm, a deputy checked careless driving eastbound 220th from L Avenue and located the vehicles which were caught up in traffic

At 3:23 pm, Grand Junction Rescue responded to the report of a seven year old child who was stuck in the mud at Spring Lake Park; the child was freed before they arrived

At 4:30 pm, a deputy investigated a trespass complaint in Grand Junction. A subject had set up a tent and appeared to be living in it on a private lot in Grand Junction. Deputy took the tent and other items to the LEC where the owner can claim them

At 6:29 pm, a deputy picked up a knife in Scranton that three youngsters had found in the park by the school. They were praised for turning the knife over to their parents

At 7:57 pm, deputies investigated a fight at the Casey’s Store in Scranton

At 9:04 pm, a deputy assisted with locating an unruly child from the 800 Block of Jordan Avenue who had left the residence without permission. The child returned a short time later

09/30   At 12:42 am, a deputy assisted Jefferson police with a possible drug overdose

At 1:30 am, a deputy located Matthew D. Burgart, 17, of Churdan in Churdan and determined he was in Possession of Alcohol Underage. He was released to his parents and will be referred to juvenile authorities

At 1:44 am, a deputy assisted with Life flight landing and taking off from the GCMC

At 2:05 am, Jennifer W. Gohnchavez, 40, of Jefferson was booked into the county jail after an arrest by Jefferson police for Public Intoxication

At 2:40 am, a deputy investigated a property damage crash involving a Jefferson police patrol vehicle at 304 W. Reed Street. Niko L. Rice, 18, of Paton was backing from a driveway at 304 W. Reed in a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero and backed into a 2013 Ford Explorer owned by the City of Jefferson that was parked causing an estimated $1500 to that vehicle and $500 to the Oldsmobile. Rice was cited for Unsafe Backing and Failure to have Insurance.

At 9:10 am, a deputy investigated a domestic dispute in the 1800 Block of 220th Street

At 9:34 am, a deputy checked a civil complaint involving children in Dana

At 11:12 am, a deputy checked the report of suspicious subjects in Scranton. It was found that they were out of gas and waiting for a friend to show up with cash

At 12:00 pm, a deputy investigated the burglary to a garage in Grand Junction where tools were reported stolen

At 1:00 pm, Justin J. Schultz, 19, of Lohrville was booked into the county jail after turning himself in on warrants for Possession of Alcohol Underage, failure to maintain Control and Failure to Wear Seatbelt, charges filed by a deputy in connection with a crash on 09/16, he was booked and released O/R per warrants

At 1:40 pm, Richard A. Hennings, 27, of Belleview, NE was booked into the county jail after an arrest and transport by a deputy from Sarpy County, NE after waiving extradition on a 05/04/2009 charge of Failure to Appear for OWI 1st and Interference with Official Acts, he remains held

At 6:48 pm, a deputy investigated a property damage crash on V Avenue north of 240th Street, report pending

At 7:29 pm, a deputy checked the report of a possible field fire southeast of Paton

At 9:03 pm, a deputy checked the report of a large hay bale on fire three miles of Churdan

At 9:32 pm, a deputy checked the report of either gunshots or an explosion in the 100 Block of 210th Street but the source was not located

At 11:31 pm, a deputy checked careless driving in Grand Junction but did not locate the vehicle

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and   all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
