The Greene County High School football team stands at two wins and four losses heading into tonight’s Class 2A District 8 contest with Clarinda High at Linduska Field in Jefferson. With each of its two victories the Rams halted losing streaks and now they hope to start a winning streak. In week four the Rams were 28-0 winners over Red Oak and that snapped a six-game losing streak dating back to the 2011 season. Last week’s 20-6 victory in Story City over Roland-Story put an end to six straight road losses, again going back to last year. Coach Dean Lansman and company are hoping to win consecutive games for the first time since weeks six and seven of a season ago. Clarinda is 1-5 overall and the Greene County opponent next week, Clarinda Academy, is winless, so the Rams have an opportunity for a mini winning streak.
Tonight’s game between the Cardinals and Rams can be heard on KG98 at 7 p.m. with coverage beginning at six o’clock.
