The Heart of Iowa Activities Conference volleyball season came to an end on Oct. 8 for Greene County with a come-from-behind three sets to two victory in Jewell vs. South Hamilton. Down two games to none, the Rams rallied to win three sets in a row and they finished league play with a 5-4 record. Overall, Greene County is 10-13 with the Johnston tournament on Oct. 13 to close out the regular season.

Scores vs. the Hawks on Monday were 21-25, 24-26, 25-22, 25-15, 15-6. Head coach Donna Carhill said the Rams have finally gotten to the point in the season when the players just won’t quit. “It would have been easy to let the match go when they were down two games, but they didn’t, and that is a major step for this team. They showed determination, poise, and teamwork after winning the third game. They just continued to play better with each succeeding game.”
