Lake Panorama near Panora is the site of a 4 p.m. coed Class 2A state qualifying meet for high school cross-country teams on Oct. 18. Greene County will have its teams in the competition along with a number of other squads from both in and out of the Raccoon Valley Radio listening area. The top three girls and boys teams and top 10 girls and boys individuals will advance to the Oct. 27 state meet at Kennedy Park north of Ft. Dodge.

Greene County coach Kelly Simpson has watched junior Allison Higgins and senior Jacob Simpson lead the Rams throughout the season. Higgins and Simpson have both finished in the top 10 individually in nearly every meet this season and they would seem to have the best chances for state meet qualification among Greene County runners.
