The A-D-M Lady Tigers Volleyball team finished second in the Knoxville tournament this weekend by winning four of five matches.

A-D-M defeated Perry in the opening round by scores of 21-15 and 21-18, knocked off Pella Christian 14-21, 21-17 & 15-12 in round two, beat Grinnell 21-11 & 21-18 in the third match and then took care of host Knoxville in the fourth match by scores of 25-16, 20-25 & 15-10 in the tie-breaker. That set the stage for the Championship game against Iowa Falls.

Unfortunately, the Lady Tigers lost in straight sets by identical scores of 14-25. “The girls played well, ” said Head Coach Mary Beth Scott, “We had to battle through sickness, 9 of our 12 players have been sick recently so we were shorthanded during the tournament.” “It was a team effort,” Coach Scott continued, “I’m proud of the way the team battled all weekend.”

Allison Gottschalk paced the Lady Tigers during the tournament, she recorded 35 kills, 9 spikes & 88 sets, Torrie Hook added 27-8-58 despite missing significant time during the tournament while Kari Dufoe added 16-7-42. During the Pella Christian match Marissa Felt & Haley Schepers were 11 for 11 serving while Torrie Hook had 20 digs and Maddie Powers added 18.

A-D-M improved their season record to an impressive 23-9 and game record to 55-28. Tonight they finish off their conference season as they travel to Carroll, the Lady Tigers are in second place in the Raccoon River Conference with a 6-1 record.
