The City of Jefferson will hold a public meeting tonight to get input on the possibility of making the city a “quiet zone”.

A quiet zone would eliminate the need for train horns by either closing or modifying the existing crossing in Jefferson.

Project engineer representatives from Snyder and Associates will be on hand to present information and answer questions about this option, along with helping to document the public’s suggestions and concerns.

The meeting takes place at 6pm in City Hall.  Anyone with questions can call City Administrator Mike Palmer at 386-3111.
