With a win Friday night over the Cyclones of Harlan, the A-D-M Tigers can accomplish their second & third goals of the 2012 High School football. Last weeks win over Perry clinched a playoff berth for A-D-M, the 1st of the Tigers season goals. A win over Harlan would clinch a home playoff game and more importantly clinch a second straight district title for A-D-M.

“It should be a great football game,” said Tiger Head Coach Mike Whisner, “Both teams are very similar, similar in scoring, defense and recent history. Both teams went to the final four last year but lost and this year both teams are vying for a District Title.”

Both teams are balanced as well, each team can run & throw the football. A-D-M is led in rushing by Senior standout Jordan Grove. Grove has rushed for 1,568 yards while tallying 15 rushing touchdowns; however, he is a game time decision due to an injured hip suffered two weeks ago. Through the air Kyle Herrick has throw for 1,619 yards and 13 touchdowns while Tate Jensen leads the Tigers in receiving with 582 yards & 5 scores.

For Harlan, the Cyclones are led in rushing by Senior runningback Christopher Hopkins with 698 yards rushing and 7 TD’s. Junior quarterback Adam Juhl leads the Cyclones passing attack with 1,500 yards passing with 16 TD’s while Nate Kloewer is the leading receiver with 698 yards receiving and 9 TD’s.

“We’re evenly matched,” continued Whisner, “It’ll be a playoff atmosphere, that’s what District Championship game feels like.”

Both teams have identical district records, 4-1, along with Creston. When the smoke clears tonight anyone of the three teams could be district champion. A-D-M has the clearest shot and can end any speculation by beating Harlan, but a loss could drop the Tigers to as low as the 3rd seed. For Harlan, they need to beat A-D-M and then have Lewis Central beat Creston while Creston can win the District with a win & a Tigers loss.
