After being postponed by inclement weather on Oct. 18, the Class 2A cross-country coed state qualifying meet was held Monday on the par three golf course at Lake Panorama near Panora. The top three teams and top 10 individuals qualified for the Oct. 27 Coed State Meet north of Ft. Dodge at Kennedy Park.

Collins-Maxwell-Baxter won the girls’ team title with 58 points with North Polk (Alleman) second at 60, and Panorama in third with 101 points. Greene County finished fourth among the 16 teams with 103 points. Sybbie (Sibbie) Sears of North Polk won the individual girls’ title with Allison Higgins of Greene County in second place. Other girls from the listening area advancing to state were fourth place finisher Mady (Maddie) Dick of South Central Calhoun, eighth place finisher Hannah Appleseth of Panorama, and ninth place finisher Shelby Hunemiller of West Central Valley.

The boys’ winner at Panorama was North Polk with 32 points, followed by St. Edmond of Ft. Dodge at 66, and South Central Calhoun with 106. Those three teams advance to state. Greene County was seventh, Panorama eighth, and West Central Valley was 15th. Individual boys from the listening area qualifying for state included sixth place finisher Ryan Daisy of South Central Calhoun and tenth place finisher Jacob Simpson of Greene County.
