The Panorama Panthers ended their regular season on a high note last Friday as they defeated the Treynor Cardinals 60-20. This win not only solidified the Panthers as third place in class 1A District 8, but should have also boosted their confidence as they go into the playoffs.

 

The Panthers started the game off strong with a 26-6 lead by the end of the first quarter and didn’t stop the machine for the rest of the night. Tyler Hein lead the team in rushing with 7 carries for 202 yards and 2 touchdowns. Alex Llanes had 5 carries for 35 yards and 1 touchdown. Luke Webner had 5 carries for 45 yards and 1 touchdown. Gabe Richey also helped out with 1 carry for 45 yards ending in the end zone.

 

The Panthers had a big defensive game as well. Tyler Hein had 7 solo tackles, 7 assisted tackles, and 1 interception. Logan Hupp had 6 solo tackles and 3 assisted tackles. Josiah Moulds had 3 solo tackles, 1 assisted tackle, and 1 fumble recovery. Taylor Harper had a big night as well with 5 solo tackles, 3 assisted tackles, and 1 sack.

 

This Wednesday, the Panthers are traveling to Van Meter to take on the 7-2, 5-1 Bull Dogs. With the “Win or go home” mantra echoing in everyone’s mind during this time of the season, the Panthers will have to continue with how they have been playing to pull this game out.
