The past four full days have been business as usual for the Panorama Panthers.  They have gone through their daily practices, watched the film, and learned their opponents strengths.  It just so happens however, that tonight’s game isn’t “just another game.”

Tonight the Panthers square off against the Van Meter Bulldogs in the first round of Class 1A District 8 playoff football.  And even with a couple of injuries on the team, coach Lyle Alumbaugh is confident in seniors Tyler Hein, Logan Hupp, and  Garrett Mleynek to not only lead the team but to also set examples for some of the younger players.

“They are excellent leaders and they are doing a real nice job.  Some people are going to be at different spots.  So it’s going to take some of that leadership and some experience there to get us through.”
Alumbaugh also mentions that Van Meter isn’t stacked with seniors and runs a system similar to Treynor.  Does this mean a more energetic game than last week or something else?  With their entire year riding on this game the Panthers are going to have to play like they have been throughout the season.

Tune into KDLS AM1310 at 6:00 p.m. tonight for all of the play by play action and listen to the Panthers take on the Bulldogs in Van Meter.
