Perry families will be celebrating Halloween with several community events Tuesday.

Starting at 4pm and continuing until 6:00 is the Perry Chamber of Commerce Spooktacular.  Chamber Executive Director Bob Wilson says it’s an event that’s fun for the whole family.  Businesses and civic organizations will be lined up on 2nd Street waiting for kids dressed in their costumes to stop by.

Everyone is invited to check out the Halloween themed artwork along 2nd Street while they stop by and visit participating businesses and organizations.  There will also be hot dogs available to parents don’t need to stop home to feed their kids in between the festivities.

The Dallas County Hospital Safe and Fun Halloween event then takes place from 5-6:30pm at the hospital and city-wide trick-or-treat Begger’s Night is from 6-8pm.

Other communities hosting their Begger’s Night this evening are Adel, Van Meter, Waukee, Woodward, Minburn, Guthrie Center, Stuart, Jamaica and Menlo.

Communities that invite kids to trick-or-treat tomorrow on actual Halloween are Jefferson from 5:30-7:30pm and Dallas Center, DeSoto, Granger, Redfield and Greenfield from 6-8pm.

In addition, the Perry Hy-Vee store is offering free photos of kids in their Halloween Costume from tonight 5-6:30pm.  The pictures will be available for pick-up on Wednesday.
