The Dallas County Conservation Board is hosting a program this weekend that will teach participants survival skills in case they ever need to build a shelter.

Statistics show one out of seven people will find themselves in a survival situation at some point in their lives.  The program will show attendees how to build a warm shelter, learn why this is the most important thing to do and find out what items should be packed in your survival kit.

Participants should dress according to the weather and be prepared to get dirty and have some fun.

The event takes place Saturday from 10am-noon at the Kuehn Conservation Area.  Registration is required, to sign up call 465-3577.
