Boy Scout Troop 167 is “Scouting for Food” for the Cottage Pantry in Stuart.  Cottage Pantry is the food distribution pantry where those in need can go and get basic food items for themselves and their families.  According to the volunteers at Cottage Pantry the need is great and the need is now, so please be generous!

Cottage Pantry Director Marlis Beeler says last Saturday, Boy Scout Members left plastic grocery sacks at every home and residents were asked to donate what they could.  Scout Members will stop by your house this Saturday, November 10, to pick up the bag and deliver all donations to the Cottage Pantry.

Beeler asks residents to please donate non-perishable items in unbreakable containers.  Items always needed at the Pantry include paper goods, toothpaste, deodorant, canned meats, biscuit mix, canned fruit juices, tuna/hamburger helper, instant Jello, instant pudding, small cans of coffee, pasta, cereal, rice, beans, cornbread mix, canned fruits and vegetables, canned soups or soup mixes and all types of condiments in small bottles.

If the Boy Scouts miss picking up your sack, please call 515-681-6964 and someone will come to your home to get the sack Beeler added.

The Cottage Pantry serves the West Central Valley District, which includes Dexter, Menlo, Redfield and Stuart.  Hours at the center in Stuart are Wednesdays from 2 P.M. to 5 P.M. and the second and fourth Saturdays of each month from 9 A.M. to 11 A.M.
