The Greene County Medical Center’s auxiliary raised more than $14,000 this year.

According to the medical center’s year-end report events like a quilt raffle, table talk luncheon, uniform sale, garage sale and gold refinery sale raised $14,019 in fiscal year 2012.

The auxiliary also reported a total of 13,223 volunteer hours, which can be translated into almost $100,000 in value – if calculated at minimum wage.  The volunteers help with a variety of tasks including the gift shop, long term care, outpatient services, public health and other departments.  They also coordinate the monthly blood drives and participate in various community events.

The auxiliary gave more than $40,000 in gifts to the medical center this year. Including a new dish machine for nutritional services, new monitors for surgery recovery rooms and display tables.  They also provided baby books and caps for newborns and awarded to scholarships to local students.
