 November 12 thru 18, 2012

 

11/12   At 1:00 am, a deputy investigated a car/deer crash in the S curves on 235th Street east of Jefferson. Chad D. Jones, 25, of Jefferson was eastbound in a 2006 Saturn Satire when he struck the deer causing an estimated $2500 in damages.

At 4:19 pm, a deputy investigated the complaint by a hunter who reported while hunting near X Avenue between 335th and 337th Streets that a nearby property owner had fired shots over his head. Deputy and state conservation officer spoke with the land owner who advised he had been target shooting on his on land and had a proper back stop for his range. Nothing indicated that the subject had shot near the hunter.

At 5:27 pm, a deputy checked an unattended vehicle at D Avenue and 182nd Street

 

11/13   At 8:22 am, a deputy checked the report of cattle out east of E Avenue on 330th Street

At 10:30 am, Brittany J. Halstead, 22, of Branson, MO was booked into the county jail serving an OWI 1st sentence

At 12:42 pm, a deputy checked careless driving eastbound 220th from Carroll County, vehicle was located and stopped and driver found to be having an eye problem as he was enroute to an eye appointment. Deputy had his spouse drive from that point.

At 3:54 pm, a deputy investigated a trespass complaint in Dana and issued a warning to the subject who was at a vacant home without permission

 

11/14   At 5:33 am, am a deputy checked careless driving westbound 220th from U Avenue and located the semi in question. He stopped the vehicle and found that the driver was falling asleep and had him rest at Sparky’s

At 11:30 am, Mark T. Robertson, 60, of Ames was booked into the county jail serving and OWI 2nd sentence

At 1:40 pm, Brittany K. Smith, 25, of Jefferson was booked into the county jail after an arrest by Jefferson police for Assault-Serious; she was booked and released on bond

At 2:43 pm, a deputy assisted with traffic control in the 1600 Block of Kendrick Street in Scranton where several farm wagons had flat tires

At 4:46 pm, a deputy checked the report of cattle out on Eaton Avenue north of 220th Street

At 5:25 pm, a deputy investigated and cleared a trespass complaint in Grand Junction

At 6:40 pm, a deputy investigated a domestic dispute in the 2200 Block of M Avenue and stood by while one party left the residence for the evening

 

11/15   At 6:47 am, a deputy assisted with horses out near Quint and 240th Street

At 1:54 pm, a deputy investigated an assault between family members south of Jefferson along Neola Avenue

At 4:44 pm, a deputy checked a stalled vehicle at N Avenue north of 210th Street

At 7:06 pm, a state trooper investigated a minor personal crash involving a deer near 220th and S Avenue

At 7:16 pm, a deputy investigated a property damage crash involving a deer near 220th and L Avenue. Nathan J. Hettinger, 19, of Lemars was eastbound on 220th in a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am when he struck the deer causing an estimated $3,000 in damages

At 8:36 pm, a deputy investigated a property damage crash involving a deer on D Avenue near 270th Street. Kathryn D. Hunter, 17, of Scranton was northbound on D Avenue in a 2002 Cadillac Seville when she struck the deer causing an estimated $3500 in damages

 

11/16   At 4:08 am, a deputy checked an alarm at the East-Greene School

At 6:05 am, a deputy investigated a property damage crash on 222nd Street east of Oakland Avenue. No driver was there so the vehicle was impounded and the report is pending

At 8:22 am, a deputy investigated an assault complaint at the Paton-Churdan School where a student alleges he was assaulted by teachers. After investigation it appears that the student had been out or control and had to be restrained by several teachers

At 12:31 pm, a deputy investigated a theft involving a false cashier’s check that had been cashed at the Community State Bank in Paton, it remains under investigation

At 3:24 pm, a deputy assisted Jefferson police with a property damage crash

At 3:11 pm, a deputy investigated a child custody situation in the 2100 Block of 340th Street that was found to be a civil matter

At 4:10 pm, Matthew J. Kramer, 37, no address given was booked into the county jail after an arrest and transport by a deputy from Carroll County on warrants for Driving While Suspended and Theft 5th Degree; he was later transported back to Carroll County where he is being held

11/17   At 10:12 am, a deputy investigated criminal mischief to a vehicle in Grand Junction that had a tire slashed

At 12:14 pm, a deputy conducted a welfare check in the 2100 Block of 340th Street related to the previous call the day before

At 12:24 pm, a deputy checked an unattended fire on Parkland Ave north of 235th Street

At 2:18 pm, a deputy checked several reports of a suspicious person who was stopping at farm residence along the 2100 blocks of 330th and 330th Streets and wanting to give the residents an Energy Drink. The deputy located the gray Nissan pick-up and identified the driver who was from Urbandale. He did have literature pertaining to products associated with helping to avoid soil compaction but a business card he gave the deputy had a website address that is a site for Amway products.

At 2:40 pm, a deputy investigated a fire in Grand Junction where a subject was burning brush. It was found that he had been given permission to have the controlled burn

At 5:30 pm, a deputy conducted a welfare check in the 2000 Block of 190th Street as the caller stated an ex-spouse had threatened to break into the house. The house was checked and also determined that it was involving a verbal domestic dispute

At 5:39 pm, a deputy investigated a property damage car/deer crash at Quint and 235th Street. Sherry M. Grife, 38, of Scranton was eastbound on 235th in a 2000 Buick Park Avenue when she struck the deer causing an estimated $ 1500 in damages

At 8:44 pm, a deputy and Jefferson Fire responded to the report of a vehicle in the river at Danger Hill. It was determined to have been a vehicle on the boat ramp.

 

11/18   At 8:41 am, a deputy investigated the report of a stop sign down in Churdan and upon arrival found that four stop signs had been removed. It was also later reported that a stop sign was removed at N Avenue and 140th Street.

At 11:34 am, a deputy checked the report of an injured deer east of J Avenue on 240th Street and issued a salvage tag to a subject who wanted it

At 12:47 pm, a deputy investigated the report of a dog at large killing chickens in the 1100 Block of 330th Street

At 1:01 pm, a deputy arrested Blayne A. Fitzsimmons, 23, of Grand Junction on a Boone County warrant for Probation Revocation-Original charges of Dangerous Drugs; he was transported to the county line to a Boone County deputy

At 9:37 pm, a deputy checked the report of careless driving westbound 220th from Boone but the vehicle was not located

At 9:57 pm, a deputy checked cattle out in the 1100 Block of 130th Street

 

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and   all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
