The girls’ basketball team from Greene County High School opens the 2012-13 season tonight at approximately 7:30 vs. Saydel on Des Moines’ northeast side. The Rams are hoping to improve on the 5-17 record of last season while the Eagles were just 1-21 and Saydel takes a 20-game losing streak  into this season. The Rams are led by senior Jennifer Kennedy, who averaged 16.5 points a season last season when she earned all-conference honors in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference. Saydel is in its first year in the Heart of Iowa and tonight’s game is a conference contest.
