Iowa’s fifth judicial district now has a new judge.

Governor Terry Branstad has appointed Rebecca Goodgame Ebinger to the 5C judicial district Tuesday.

Ebinger has a law degree from Yale and is currently serving as Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of Iowa.  She was appointed to fill a vacancy left when Judge Reis retired.

The fifth district covers 16 Iowa counties including Dallas and Guthrie.
