A South Dakota man was cited after falling asleep and driving into the ditch Thursday.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, 64 year-old Vincent Turgeon of Sioux Falls was traveling eastbound on interstate 80 near DeSoto when he fell asleep at the wheel and entered the south ditch. On the way down, Turgeon struck a mile marker, drove through a small ditch causing damage to the front of his 1998 Mercedes.
Turgeon was no injured in the crash but damage to the vehicle is estimated at around $2,000. He was cited for failure to maintain control.
