The Iowa Farm Bureau is offering grants to teachers who bring agriculture to the classroom.
With Iowans two to three generations removed from the family farm, the Iowa Farm Bureau Foundation works to help today’s students learn about the diverse and dynamic nature of agriculture. The Teacher Supplement Grant Program helps elementary teachers purchase materials to help incorporate agriculture into their curriculum.
The 2013 subject areas are heath or wellness with an emphasis on nutrition along with music, art, physical education and fitness.
Applications are now available and due by February 8th, with the grants being awarded in March.
