Greene County Sheriff News Release

November 26 thru December 2, 2012

 

11/26   At 8:21 am, a deputy checked the report of a hitchhiker near 220th and U Avenue

At 10:42 am, a deputy checked an unattended vehicle at N Avenue and 290th Street

At 12:00 pm, Adam M. Winger, 32, of Jefferson was booked into the county jail awaiting transport to the Oakdale Receiving facility after being sentenced to five years on a Theft 2nd degree conviction

At 2:30 pm, Jonathan L. Bevers, 30, no address claimed was booked into the county jail serving an OWI 1st sentence

At 6:15 pm, Laurel G. Tilley, 21, of DSM was booked into the county jail after turning herself in for booking on a charge of OWI 1st, charge filed by a deputy in connection with a personal injury crash on 10/21 in the 1200 Block of 220th Street, she was booked and released O/R

 

11/27   At 2:00 pm, a deputy spoke with person regarding a child custody matter in Grand Junction which was deemed a civil issue and they were advised to contact their attorney

At 2:02 pm, a deputy on patrol located a John Deere Gator near D Avenue and Crestwood in the timber that had been reported stolen on 10/10 from the 100 Block of 210th Street. The Gator was hung up and apparently has been there for some time since the theft

 

11/28   At 6:30 am, a deputy transported Adam M. Winger and Robert D. Olson to the Oakdale Receiving Center. Olson had been sentenced there after being held in the county jail since 08/24 on a Public Intoxication 2nd or Subsequent conviction that ordered a one year prison term

At 6:33 am, a deputy checked the report of horses out on Quaker Avenue south of 250th Street but they were not located

At 3:24 pm, a deputy checked the report of a traffic hazard near 220th and Pioneer where lime being spread in a field was blowing across the highway causing a visibility problem. The deputy found it was a hazard and spoke with the applicator who agreed to stop until the wind went down

At 3:48 pm, a deputy investigated a home burglary in the 2300 Block of X Avenue. After investigation it was found that nothing was taken and the person may have had consent to enter the home, it remains under investigation

At 4:18 pm, a deputy checked the report of goats on 130th Street east of Paton but they were not located

At 6:02 pm, a deputy checked an incomplete 911 call made from Paton and it was found to have been dialed by mistake

 

11/29   At 10:00 am, Justin Z. Emmick, 22, of Jefferson was booked into the county jail after turning himself in on a warrant for Probation Revocation-Original charges of Theft 2nd Degree and Delivery of Controlled Substances, remains held

At 10:45 am, a canine search was conducted at the Greene County High School parking lot at the request of school officials. Besides the departments K9 Ranger, dogs from the Boone and Carroll County Sheriff’s Offices assisted. Two of the dogs hit on one vehicle and a subsequent consent search of the vehicle recovered narcotics paraphernalia. Charges are pending in the investigation.

At 11:18 am, a deputy investigated the theft of a propane tank and used tires from the 100 Block of 330th Street

At 3:12 pm, a deputy responded to a possible scam complaint at Medicap Pharmacy, see separate news release

At 6:37 pm, a deputy investigated the complaint of a dog tied up in a yard in Churdan with no food or water. Deputy could not locate anyone home but he did untangle the dog, another deputy will follow up on the complaint

At 9:00 pm, Christian C. Reed, 20, of Jefferson was booked into the county jail after turning himself in on a Polk County warrant for Probation Violation, remains held awaiting transport

At 10:16 pm, a deputy checked an incomplete 911 call received from the 800 Block of Q Avenue but no source could be identified

 

11/30   At 8:30 am, Shawn A. Ellsberry, 44, of Jefferson was booked into the county jail after turning himself in on a warrant for Harassment 3rd Degree, charges filed by Jefferson police, he was booked and released O/R per warrant

At 11:49 am, a deputy checked the report of two dogs at large in Scranton but they were not located

At 5:10 pm, Justin J. Downs, 27, of Jefferson was booked into the county jail after turning himself in on a warrant for Theft 2nd Degree, charges filed by a deputy in connection with a fake cashier’s check being passed at Community State Bank in Paton on 11/16, he was booked and released O/R per warrant

At 6:02 pm, a deputy conducted a welfare check on a Churdan resident who was reported being very depressed, he was contacted by telephone and advised he was fine but would not tell the deputy where he was

At 6:15 pm, a deputy checked near 220th and Orchard for a vehicle with no taillights, it was located and the driver followed home

12/01   At 1:49 pm, a deputy checked the report of an injured cat in Grand Junction. He located the animal and destroyed it

At 5:27 pm, a deputy investigated a property damage crash in Grand Junction. Zachery A. Waters, 16, of Paton was southbound on 9th Street in a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero when he crossed over the railroad tracks he stated he lost control and struck a power pole causing an estimated $2000 damage to the vehicle and $500 to the power pole. He was cited for failure to Maintain Control

At 6:17 pm, a deputy assisted Jefferson police with the search of a vehicle

 

12/02   At 12:20 am, a deputy investigated the report of a farm tractor rolled over in the ditch in the 100 Block of 200th Street. The deputy could not locate the owner/driver of the Case International 1066 with front end bale mover. The next morning the day deputy checked and the tractor had been removed from the scene

At 12:29 am, a deputy checked the report of several adults and small children walking around Grand Junction but they were not located

At 8:33 am, a deputy investigated the complaint of hunters trespassing in the area of Meadow and 260th Street. A vehicle with Mo license was located but not the driver or anyone hunting in the area

At 2:17 pm, a deputy investigated the burglary to a vacant home in the 100 Block of J Avenue where household items were reported stolen

At 6:39 pm, a deputy investigated a property damage car/deer crash on 220th Street just west of the Boone County line. Tami S. Trimble, 43, of Carroll was westbound on 220th in a 2004 Jeep Cherokee when she struck the deer causing an estimated $6500 in damages

 

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
