The ADM boys’ basketball team looked headed for a blowout; instead they squeaked away with a win and made their first victory of the 2012-2013 season a lot closer than it needed to be on Tuesday, December 4th.  ADM scored the first 9 points of the game and lead 26-14 at the half, ballooned their lead up to 18 at one point and went into the final 8 minutes leading 39-29.  However for a good part of the second half, especially the 4th quarter, the shots just didn’t fall for ADM.

The rock for ADM all night but especially in the second half was ADM’s Ben Larson.  Larson scored the first four points of the game and put up 11 points before halftime.  Then in the second half he really shined, making 3 field goals including 2 three-pointers, but ADM really struggled offensively in the 2nd half making just 6 field goals in the half.  However Larson was 8 of 9 from the free throw line in the game and he was the only Tiger to get to the line in the second half where he was 7 of 8.

Larson’s one miss however was nearly costly as ADM lead 48-45 and Larson had just made his first of two attempts.  The second attempt went in and out and Carlisle rebounded and had 5 seconds to scramble to make a 3-point shot, a shot that was taken by Jacob Klier but was off the mark and ended the game.

Larson lead the Tigers with 26 points on the evening, over half of his team’s 48 points.  Sophomore Jared Veith led Carlisle with 11 points in the losing effort.

The ADM boys’ next game is Friday, December 7th, and can be heard on 107.9 K-107 after the conclusion of the girls’ game.
