The ADM boys’ basketball team may have come away with their first victory on Tuesday, December 4th, but head coach Aaron Mager knows that the team’s performance left a lot to be desired.  It took Carlisle 10 minutes and 25 seconds to finally get on the scoreboard and ADM held a 26-14 halftime lead and a 39-29 edge going into the final stanza, but they were only able to tip-toe off the court with a three-point victory as Jacob Klier’s attempt to tie the game sailed wide.  Shortly after the game coach Mager shared some of his thoughts why Carlisle was able to claw their way back into the game.

“We shot ourselves in the foot a lot with momentum; we missed I don’t know how many two foot shots and in, that you gotta covert,” Mager explained.  “ That takes away your energy on defense when you don’t score.  I think that did affect us on the defensive side too, I didn’t like our defense at all in the second half; too many drives to the middle, too much sloppy play, not knowing your man, things like that.  We have to execute much better than we did in the second half.  You get up 20, you can’t relax.”

Another area coach Mager thought ADM needed to improve upon was scoring off the bench, as Cade Kiddo’s two points were the only points scored by any Tigers other than their starting 5.

ADM is back in conference action on Friday, December 7th, as they travel to Bondurant-Farrar; that game can be heard after the girls’ game is done on 107.9, K-107.
