Greene County lost a Heart of Iowa Activities Conference twin bill in Baxter on Friday night to the Raiders of CMB. The Raiders were 42-32 winners in the girls’ game before taking a 73-64 decision in the boys’ contest.

CMB entered the girls’ game with a record of 0-6 on the season, but 15 points by 5′ 3″ senior guard Kayla Hennick and 13 from sophomore Lexi Breon carried the Raiders to their first win. The Rams fell to 3-2 on the season and were led by senior Jennifer Kennedy’s 11 points. No other Greene County girl had more that five points. The only lead the Rams held was a t2-0 and they trailed by as many as 14 points.

The boys’ game was much higher scoring, but the result was the same. The Raiders improved to 1-3 in the conference and 2-3 overall. They scored 32 points in the fourth quarter to pull away from a one-point lead at 41-40 at the end of the third quarter. CMB went 30 of 39 from the foul line including 21 of 26 in the final period Junior guard Austin Moorman had 20 points, all in the second half, to lead five Raiders who scored in double figures. The Rams were led by the Ostrander cousins. Justin had 17 points and Reed added 15. Sophomore Landon Braun scored 13 points for the Rams, who fell to 1-3 on the season and in the conference.
