The ADM girls’ basketball team on Friday, December 7th, suffered their first conference loss of the season at the hands of Bondurant-Farrar by a score of 59-42.  The Lady Jays came out flying in the first half and took a 31-13 lead into the locker room at the half.  ADM did battle back to outscore Bondurant-Farrar 19-18 in the second half, and while head coach Brett Watson was much more pleased with his team’s second half performance, he pointed out that they had dug themselves in far too big of a hole.

Bondurant-Farrar came into the game shooting a respectable 61% from the free throw line, going 22 of 36 in the first two games, but Friday night the girls were lights out, going 21 of 22 in the game.  Watson said that while you can’t anticipate a team shooting 96% from the line on you, ADM was certainly responsible for putting them at the stripe.

“They had not shot like that coming into the year but give them credit, they stepped up and made their free throws,” Watson commended.  “Now on the other hand, what we can control is our fouling.  We’ve still got to do a better job of keeping our hands out and not getting them to the line.  Yes they did capitalize but we can’t put them in that situation.”

The loss drops the Tigers to 3-2 on the season, 1-1 in conference play, and they’ll be back at it again Tuesday, December 11th, in Boone.  Pre-game starts at 5:45 and tip-off is at 6 PM on 107.9, K-107.
