The Perry Humane Society provides several services for animals in need in the area but sometimes animals need more help than normal and the finances aren’t always there to make it happen.

Right now they’re looking for donations to help a cat in need that was taken in by the shelter and now needs to have his eye removed.

Abby Benefiel with the humane society says the cat came to the shelter in rough shape and while most things have been taken care of she has since developed an infection in her eye that has resulted in blindness and requires it be removed.  Without the surgery, the cat risks more severe infections because the eye can’t protect itself.  Benefiel says every little bit helps.

Donations for the cat can be sent to Abby with a note stating it’s for the cat’s surgery at 1801 Willis Avenue in Perry.
