The ADM girls’ basketball team led through much of the game on Tuesday, December 11th, and almost all of the 4th quarter, but Carroll’s senior Brittany Holdsworth buried a 3-pointer with 16 seconds left to score the last points of the game and give her Tigers the win over ADM 57-56.  Holdsworth had 23 points including six from the foul line and three 3-pointers, and her last shot caused the gym in Carroll to erupt and ended up being the difference.

ADM head coach Brett Watson felt that his Tigers had a chance to put the game out of reach for Carroll but sloppy defense let the home team back in it.  “It shouldn’t have come down to that last possession which was disappointing; we had some chances in the first half and 3rd quarter to kind of put them away, kind of stretch out a lead and we just could not do that because we couldn’t get enough stops defensively,” said Watson.  “Again, that’s gonna be our focus from here on out, getting stops defensively so we can increase that lead and so it doesn’t come down to situations like that.”

ADM was led offensively by Madi Bertman who had a game-high 24 points on 10 field goals and 4 free throws, junior Kendra Chapman was the only other Tiger in double digits with 10 points, leading scorer Abrianna Grapp had 9 on the night and junior Haley Canney had 7 points and created some good pressure off the bench.

ADM falls to 3-3 on the season, 1-2 in Raccoon River Conference play, and they’ll host Boone on Friday, December 14th, in Adel.  That game can be heard on 107.9, K-107, with the Lincoln Savings Bank Pre-Game Show starting at 5:45, tip-off at 6 PM.
