The ADM girls’ dropped a heartbreaker of a game in the Carroll gym on Tuesday, December 11th, but it certainly wasn’t due to the performance of Madi Bertman.  The junior guard put up 24 points to lead everyone on the court that night, and that puts her at 69 points on the year, passing senior Abrianna Grapp for the scoring lead on the team.  Head coach Brett Watson spoke with us during half time of the boys’ game Tuesday night about Bertman’s performance.

“She does a very good job attacking the basket and she got some good opportunities there at the basket and finished them which is nice to see,” Watson stated.  “She had some other free throw opportunities, and if she put those in she’s up to 30 points or around there.”

Bertman’s points came off of 10 field goals, all 2-point shots, and 4 free throws.  Bertman is a player that likes to attack the basket either along the base line or right down the middle of the court and is successful in getting a high percentage of her shots from close-range.  We’ll see if Bertman can ride the momentum of her big night in Carroll on Friday, December 14th, when the Tigers host Boone; the Lincoln Savings Bank Pre-Game Show begins at 5:45 PM, the tip-off is at 6 PM, and all the action can be heard on 107.9, K-107.
