The ADM boys’ basketball team found themselves down by as many as 14 points in the first half and with leading scorer Ben Larson on the bench for much of the second quarter, things started to look bleak for the Tigers.  That’s when junior Logan Essy sparked an ADM-run capped off by Jonathan Reel’s lay up in the closing seconds cut the Boone lead to four going into halftime.  Essy scored 19 of his team leading 23 in the first half including going 10 for 10 from the free throw line.

In the second half while ADM kept flirting with taking over the lead they weren’t able to until the fourth quarter off of a Ben Larson 3-pointer.  Boone then retook the lead but it was Larson who put ADM ahead for good, another 3 made it 60-59 with 1:30 left in the game.  In the closing seconds Boone trailed by two and had an opportunity to tie the game when they attempted a shot that was missed and Larson came down with the big rebound and when Boone was forced to foul Larson put the game out of reach and extended ADM’s lead to 65-61.  Boone threw up a long 3 point attempt that was no good and that ended up being the final score.

The ADM Tigers improved to 2-5 on the year and are back in Raccoon River Conference action tomorrow night as they host Dallas Center-Grimes; the game can be heard following the girls’ game on 107.9, K-107.
