The ADM Tigers put up back-to-back wins over the weekend thanks in large part to defense, but that doesn’t mean that some offense in the game didn’t hurt as well.

Last Tuesday, December 11th, Madi Bertman scored 24 points to not only lead the team that night, but also take over the scoring lead on the season from teammate Abrianna Grapp. Bertman hasn’t backed down the past two games and she also put up the most points in ADM’s two most recent victories, 14 against Boone and 9 against Norwalk, to keep her average at 11.5 points per game.

The team had a number of contributions defensively as the team held Boone to 37 points on Friday, December 14th, and then followed it up by allowing Norwalk just 28 points, including just 17 in the last 24 minutes of the game. Coach Brett Watson stresses trying to keep the opponent in single digits in scoring per quarter, and they were able to accomplish that goal for 5 of the 8 quarters they played over the weekend. Even more impressive was ADM was able to overcome being without starter Brianna Mueller as she has missed the last two games due to a death in the family. Haley Canney filled in well in the open starting slot putting up 7 and 6 points in the two contests and playing aggressively drawing a number of fouls.

On Tuesday, December 18th, they’ll host rival Dallas Center-Grimes with the Lincoln Savings Bank Pre-Game Show starting at 5:45 PM on 107.9, K-107, the tip-off is at 6.
