For 3 1/2 quarters, Winterset was the dominant team.  For the final 5 minutes of the 4th quarter and the extra 4 minute overtime session, it was Perry’s turn to shine. The Bluejays rallied from an early  15 point second half deficit to beat Winterset in overtime 79-72.  Torey Brelsford’s basket with 13 seconds to go tied the game at 69 and Corey Briney’s desperation three point shot fell short sending the game into overtime.  Perry took control of the overtime early with back to back baskets from Brelsford and Will Whiton.  Perry never trailed in the extra session in winning their second game in a row.  Brelsford finished with a career high 39 points including 5 in the overtime session, while Whiton tallied 21 including the other 5 overtime points.  Whiton finished 7-9 at the foul line down the stretch.  Junior Ben Daniels hit a key three late in finsishing with a season high 8 points.

Winterset was led by Trae Gilliland’s 19 points, all coming in the first half.  Gilliland injured his knee midway through the 3rd quarter and did not return.  Perry improves to 4-4 and 2-4 in the conference while the Huskies fall to 3-4 and 2-4 in the conference.  Perry returns to action Friday with a home date with ADM.
