The Perry Jayettes won their 6th straight game Tuesday night knocking off number 2 and previously unbeaten Winterset 52-44.  Sophomore Clair Marburger led the way with a season high 28 points, while sophomore Maggie Lowe chipped in 12 and Frankie Eklund 10.  Winterset was paced by Taylor Benshoof’s 15.  The Raccoon River Conference’s leading scorer Mariah Chriswell was held to 7 points after fighting foul trouble all night.

The game was tight through out with Winterset leading by 2 at halftime and 35-33 at the end of 3.  Perry took control of the game early in the 4th quarter with a quick 7-2 outburst that saw Marburger get back to back fastbreak baskets after Husky turnovers.

Amazingly, Perry was able to hold the lead in the 4th quarter despite missing their first 8 free throw attempts in the second half and finishing 3-13 in the second half and only 5-19 for the game.  Eklund was a main contributor defensively providing help out post defense to penetrators Benshaaf and Criswell.   Perry improves to 8-1 and 5-1 in the conference while Winterset falls to 9-1 and 5-1 in the conference.
