On the short end of a 66-30 scoreboard, there are multiple areas that ADM boys’ basketball head coach Aaron Mager could point to for improvement, but first and foremost, Mager felt that his Tigers just didn’t have enough good offensive possessions to keep themselves in the game.

“When you’re scoring 12 points in a half its tough to feel real good about what you’re doing, even though 32 points is too much defensively,” conceded Mager.  “A lot of that is your offensive energy doesn’t feed your defensive energy.”

We spoke with coach Mager after the game and one of the areas that certainly wasn’t as efficient as in their previous game, a win over Boone, was that the Tigers couldn’t capitalize when they had shots at the foul line.

“I think when you can take advantage like we did Friday night with those stopped clock opportunities to score you can hang around or stay in that game.  When you miss all of those, I think we were 3 of 12 at half,” Mager noted.  “Yeah, we need to do a better job taking freebies and right now they’re just a better team than we are unfortunately.  We gotta keep working.”

ADM gets an opportunity to bounce back Friday, December 21st, in Perry as they take on the Blue Jays following the girls’ game on 107.9, K-107.
