We spoke with ADM girls’ basketball head coach Brett Watson shortly after his team’s 63-48 loss to Dallas Center-Grimes on Tuesday, December 18th, to get his immediate reaction to his team’s performance.  Watson said after taking a look at the film he had a better perspective of the game, including an important factor he hadn’t realized made such an impact in the game.

The ADM girls tied up the game at 30 apiece in the third quarter but DC-G from there went on a big 16-2 run to end the quarter.  Coach Watson said after looking at the tape he saw one of the reasons why.  “A big event in that game that I didn’t realize happened during that stretch was Abrianna Grapp got her 4th foul,” explained Watson.  “We had to take her out because of that and she’s such an integral part of our offense and defense.  Our play just kinda slipped after she left the game.”

The Tigers know that they just got done played a very capable opponent in the Fillies, but they have little time to think about their last opponent with the very formidable Jayettes on deck tonight.  We asked coach Watson what his thoughts were on Perry.  “Perry’s on a roll, I’m not gonna lie to you,” Watson conceded.  “They’ve won about 7 or 8 in a row and their last game they upset the number 2 team in the state so they’re playing extremely well.”

Perry’s actually won 6 in a row and have not lost since their only defeat of the season at the hands of Dallas Center-Grimes.  To listen to coach Watson’s plan of attack against Perry tune in to the Lincoln Savings Bank Pre-Game Show on Friday, December 21st, at 5:45 PM, the tip-off is at 6 PM and can be heard on 107.9, K-107.
